NCL Marks Record Highs in Rail Despatch
Singraouli: Northern Coalfields Limited has set a new milestone in 'coal despatch through rail' in current fiscal. The company, on Monday, despatched 32 rakes of coal; registering the highest coal despatch in one day through Indian Railways in current fiscal. The Chairman-Cum-Managing Director of NCL, Shri P.K. Sinha along with the Functional Directors, congratulated Team NCL for the splendid performance and hoped that the company will keep setting newer records of coal production and off-take figures in days to come.
By January 22, 2018, NCL has despatched 76.96 million tonnes of coal in current fiscal which is more than 17 percent of the volume despatched in the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
Similarly, on coal production front, the company has produced 73.59 million tonnes of coal up to January 22, 2018 which is in excess of 13 percent of 65.08 million tonnes of coal produced in the same period of the last fiscal.
Notably, the assigned coal production and off-take targets of NCL was 91 million tonne for the fiscal 2017-18 which was later revised to 93 million tonnes of coal production and off-take each. The development came in the backdrop of towering heights being scaled by NCL on coal production and off-take fronts continuously over a sustained period of time.
