BHEL wins first ever EPC contract for 800 MW Supercritical Power Project
New Delhi . Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded a prestigious EPC contract from Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd (GSECL) for setting up a 1×800 MW coal-fired Supercritical thermal unit at Wanakbori, in District Kheda, Gujarat.
To this effect, the Letter of Award (LoA) was handed over by Saurabh Patel, Minister for Energy and Petrochemicals, Mines and Minerals, Salt Industries, Printing, Planning, Tourism, Civil Aviation, Labor and Employment, Govt. of Gujarat, to Atul Sobti, Director (Power) BHEL, in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. L. Chuaungo, Principal Secratary, Energy & Petrochemicals and Gurdeep Singh, MD, GSECL, along with senior officials of GSECL and BHEL were also present on the occasion. The EPC order is valued at over Rs.3,500 Crore.
