SAIL gleaned 18 out of 28 Vishwakarma awards,
NEW DELHI . The SAIL claimed that growth in sales was backed by the diligent efforts of SAIL employees as they proved their mettle in the Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar (VRP) and Prime Minister's Shram awards.
In the VRP awards announced for performance year 2011, SAIL gleaned 18 out of 28 awards, the highest number won by any PSU.
It said out of 116 VRP awardees, a 76 per cent were from SAIL alone. In the Prime Minister's Shram Awards for 2012 announced early this month, SAIL won 6 out of the 16 awards conferred on PSUs and its constituted half of the total Shram awardees.
The shares of the company closed at Rs. 47.35 apiece, up 2.71 per cent from the previous close on the BSE. NDTV
