27th National Conference of WIPS inaugurated

NAGPUR. "Protection of women's rights is a constant struggle which can not be won unless every man and woman participates in it. Effective tools should be devised to tackle the problem of women and ensure that the laws preserving women's right should be implemented" said Honourable Smt. Justice Vasanti A. Naik, Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench. She was addressing about seven hundred female participants during 27th National conference of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) as Chief Guest, in Nagpur on Friday. The Forum for Women in Public Sector (WIPS) has organized its two days 27th National Convention Nagpur under the theme “Planet-50:50 by 2030-step it for Equality .
The key note address of inaugural session was given by Dr. U D Choubey, Director General of Standing Conference of Public Enterprise (SCOPE). While speaking on Board Level Positions in Public Sector Enterprise's (PSEs.) he advised that women executive need to accept complex and challenging roles and continuously upgrade their skill and competencies so that there is no dearth of women candidates for Board Level Positions. He also mentioned about the role of SCOPE efforts for preparing women for leadership roles in PSEs. A souvenir on WIPS was also released on this occasion. 
 
Dr. Aarti Singh, IPS, SP (CID) Nagpur also shared her life experience with the participants and motivated them to accept challenging & nonconventional tasks at work. 
 
Inaugural session of the National convention was also graced by special Invitees, Ms Manjusha Bhatnagar, Dir (HR), B&L Co. Ltd; Mr Verghese Cherian, Dir(HR), IOCL; Dr Sanjay Kumar, Dir (P), WCL; Capt. B B Sinha, Dir (P&A), SCI, who later hada panel discussion on "PSUs role of setting up equality". Where as Ms. Kirti Tiwari, President WIPS APEX; Ms. Kamna Sarkar, VP WIPS APEX;Ms. Ms. Anju Gupta, General Secretary WIPS APEX and Ms. Varsha Raut, President WIPS Western Region were prominently present during session.
