Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar NMDC

NMDC celebrated Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 126th Birth Anniversary on 14th April, 2017 at NMDC Head Office premises. The function was attended by Shri N.K. Nanda, Director (Technical), NMDC as Chief Guest; Dr. T.R.K. Rao, Director (Commercial), NMDC, Shri P.K. Satpathy, Director (Production), NMDC, Shri Sandeep Tula, Director (Personnel), NMDC were the Guests of Honour on the occasion. Shri G. Siva Rama Krishna, General Secretary and B. Hanumantha Rao, President of the NMDC SC/ST Employees Welfare Association along with executive members were also present on the occasion.

 

At the outset Chief Guest, Guests of Honour and other dignitaries unveiled and garlanded new statue of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar and lit the lamp.

 

Shri N.K. Nanda while addressing the gathering appealed to bring a change in the society by following the principles laid down by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and imbibe atleast one principle of Baba Saheb in the life of our children this would give moral satisfaction  to parents and would also enable the children    to

understand the importance of respect to elders and the society. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's role is of pivotal importance in framing Indian Constitution and up- liftment of downtrodden people and also emphasized on the principles of oneness and equality.

 

Dr. T.R.K. Rao, Director (Commercial) in his speech emphasized to follow ideals and principles of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in eradication of Social Inequality, bringing in human equality and liberation of minds to understand humans reforms.

 

Shri P.K. Satpathy, Director (Production) emphasized on to follow Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's principles of humanity and fight against social discrimination and inequality. He also said that more focus should be given on women empowerment in this present society. He said that the BHIM APP (Bharat Interface for Money) is named after Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar as a mark of respect by the present Government.

 

Shri Sandeep Tula, Director (Personnel) in his speech said that life of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is a source of inspiration for all citizens’ of India. His determination, dedication and think big attitude gave new dimension to India and for its new generations.

 

Shri G. Siva Rama Krishna, General Secretary gave a brief about the activities of the SC/ST association of NMDC and its contribution in the welfare of the employees.

 

The function was attended by employees along with their family members making it a grand success. Employees and their children participated in the cultural programmes and Citizen's Orchestra; Hyderabad sung songs in the memory of Dr.B.R. Ambedkar. Directors of NMDC present on this occasion gave away the prizes to the participant children.
