CBI detains Corporate Affairs ministry official
New Delhi. The CBI has detained Corporate Affairs Ministry Director General B.K. Bansal in an alleged bribery case, agency sources said on Saturday.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sources said that Bansal who is of an additional secretary ranked officer, has been detained along with another person identified as Vishwadeep Bansal.
Both were nabbed from a hotel here while a bribe was allegedly being offered or exchanged for showing favours to a private firm, the sources said.
They said Rs 54 lakh were recovered during searches at different locations in connection with the case.
