CPSE divestment gathers Rs 21432 cr raised so far in current year
NEW DELHI .The Indian government was able to save Rs 21432 crore through a stake sale in CPSEs (Central Public Sector Enterprises).
The consistent divestment, starting April 2016 up to December 2016 by the Government has helped it achieve 60% of its fiscal deficit target of Rs 36000 crore.
The total realisation during FY16-17 stands at Rs 23528.73 crore, of which Rs 21432.38 crore came from minority stake sale in 14 CPSEs; and remaining Rs 2096.35 crore via strategic stake sale. Strategic holding comprises of less than 50% government holding in the company.
