Floating solar power unit at NTPC
KOCHI. A floating solar photovoltaic power project of 5 kWp (kilowatt peak) is getting ready at the Rajiv Gandhi Combined Cycle Power Project of NTPC, Kayamkulam. The pilot project is being set up in the waterbody on the premises of the gas-based power plant.
The solar panels for the floating energy project are mounted on floaters, developed by the NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance (NETRA), the research wing of the public sector company, in association with the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET).
