GSL honored WITH SCOPE EXCELLENCE AWARD for Successful Turn around
New Delhi. The SCOPE Excellence for Special Institutional Category 2014-15(Turn Around)was presented to RAdm Shekhar Mital, CMD, Goa Shipyard Ltd by President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at , New Delhi during the 8th Public Sector Day Celebrations on 11th April 2017.
Union Minister for Heavy Industry Shri Anant Geete & Shri Babul Supriyo, Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Smt. Seema Bahuguna, Secretary (DPE), Chairman & DG, SCOPE and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
RAdm Shekhar Mital CMD GSL said It is landmark achievment for GSL and for him personally, as when he took over in Feb 2014, the company has reported losses of (-) Rs 61 Cr and the company within 1 year of him taking over has closed the FY14-15, with a profit of Rs 53 Cr. What is further significant is company has further gained the momentum and has grown 27% & 40% YOY in terms of VoP in last two years with profit moving up to Rs 150 Cr.
