Hydro Power Sector PSUs Contribute Rs. 4.22 Crores to Bharat Ke Veer
Shimla: As a gesture of firm resolve towards the ‘Unity of the Nation’, on behalf of Hydro Sector Public Sector Undertakings (SJVN Limited, NHPC, BBMB, THDC & NHDC) a cheque of Rs. 4.22 crores was handed over by Secretary Power, Govt. of India Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla to Secretary Home, Govt. of India Shri Rajiv Gauba for ‘Bharat Ke Veer’ corpus fund set up to aid the families of members of the Central Armed Police Forces who have laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The cheque was presented in the presence of Shri Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN and Shri D.K. Sharma, Chairman, BBMB. Shri Sharma, CMD, SJVN told that employees of SJVN have donated one day’s salary to this noble cause. The fund is envisaged to help the families of paramilitary personnel who laid down their lives fighting extremists.
The main objective of the fund is to enable the public to help the families of soldiers by contributing their bit. The Families of Brave hearts from armed forces namely Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), Assam Rifles (AR), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF-India), National Security Guards (NSG) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) will be beneficiaries of this corpus.
