MNRE building to be renamed after Atal Bihari Vajpayee
New Delhi: Now a government building will be named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The new building of renewable energy ministry spread over 2.7 acre near CGO Complex will be named as "Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan". This will be the first building in Delhi to be named after a living ex-PM.
Sources said that the proposal has been approved by the Union urban development minister M Venkaiah Naidu. The new office of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will be the unified headquarters of the ministry.
The proposal was submitted by the MNRE as its present building is facing acutespace shortage.
