MOP Signs First MoU With Jharkhand on UDAY Centre-Jharkhand Scheme To Reduce Power Utilitys Debt
New Delhi. The central and the Jharkhand governments and the Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL) signed an agreement that would give an overall net benefit of around Rs.5,300 crore to the power utility through debt reduction.
The JS (Distribution), Ministry of Power, Dr A.K Verma, the Pr. Secretary (Energy) of Jharkhand, Shri S.K.G. Rahate and the MD, JBVNL, Shri Ameet Kumar signed the first MoU with the State of Jharkhand on “UDAY” (Ujwal Discom Assurance Yojana) for operational & financial turnaround of Discoms, in the presence of the Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Shri Raghubar Das, in New Delhi on January 05, 2016. The Secretary, Ministry of Power, Shri P.K. Pujari, the Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Shri Upendra Tripathy, the Secretary (Coal), Shri Anil Swarup and the Chief Secretary Jharkhand Shri Rajiv Gauba are also seen.
