NCL Inaugurated  Several CSR Initiatives

Singrauli: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), has launched several new initiatives for inclusive development of inhabitants of Singrauli on Friday 18th January 2019. While the company arranged smart classes for the students of the Government Girls High School Singrauli on one hand, on the other hand, the same school was provided with sanitary napkin vending machines for girls. Local Pondi Panchayat got a  bridge while a road and boundary wall for school was constructed in village Azgurh. Also, people living in and around the operational area of NCL’s Block-B coal area got a new road. Member of Parliament, Sidhi-Singrauli Smt. Riti Pathak inaugurated these development works as Chief Guest.
 
On this occasion at different events, Sidhi-Singrauli MP Smt Rithi Pathak, MLA Singrauli Shri Ramlulu Vaish, Chitrangi MLA Shri Amar Singh, Director (Technical / Project and Planning) NCL Shri P.M. Prasad along with General Manager (CSR) Shri Atmeshwar Pathak, General Manager CWS, Shri R.K.Ambashtha, General Manager Block- B Shri R.B. Prasad, Senior Manager (CSR), Mohammad Parvez along with large number of NCL officials-employees and local people were present.
 
In her remarks on the occasion,  Smt. Pathak, the Chief Guest said that along with securing energy security of the nation, NCL is also the pillar of development for local people. She said that it is a matter of great significance that company like NCL is working in Sidhi-Singrauli region. She expressed hopes that NCL will keep expanding its inclusive growth works. Several Initiatives launched by NCL are:-
 
Smart Classes for Mathematics:
 
Through the smart classes of Maths started at Government Girls High School Singrauli, children will be taught Mathematics through an audio-visual medium. With this system, the students of government school will not only learn mathematics in a tech-friendly manner but will also help eliminate fear. The system will soon be expanded to other government schools as well.
 
Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine: 
 
Under this first of its kind arrangement in Singrauli region, NCL has arranged two sanitary napkin vending machines in Government Girls' School. Through this, the napkins can easily be dispensed at just a push of the button. The machine comes with an in-built disposing system through which the napkin is reduced to ashes using the process of incineration. The machine has been provided free of cost by NCL.
 
A Bridge in In Poundhi Village:
 
A bridge on Pathariya Nnaala on approach road from Gonara to Birkunia, constructed with a cost of 60 lakh, was inaugurated on Friday. Built-in Baiga-tribe dominated region, the bridge will benefit 700 households. The locals will now have to travel lesser distance to the tune of 12 kms to reach Singrauli-Chitrangi Marg.
 
Development of School and Road in Azgurh Panchayat:
 
The carpeting of road from Amlihawa to Kharwari Tola was done by Central Workshop of NCL. Built at a cost of Rs 1crore, the road will benefit 2000 local people directly. The work of NCL with regard to the construction of boundary wall, retaining wall and resurfacing of the playground of Govt. School of Azgurh was also inaugurated.  With an input cost of Rs. 38 lakh, the wall has helped secure school premises.
 
New Road from Gorbi Police Chowki to Moher:
 
A stretch of 4 km of road has been metalled by NCL has metalled between Gorbi Police Chowki and Moher. Built with an input cost of 82 lakh, the road will benefit people of Moher, Gorbi and Naudhiya Panchayat.
