NCL Makes an Everlasting Impact-Creates 2 Lakh Cleanliness Ambassadors

Singrauli: Having led ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ campaign from the front, Northern Coalfields Limited has left no stone unturned in making ‘Swachhta’ a mass movement. The campaign, that lasted for a fortnight starting from 15th September witnessed grand closing ceremony on October 2, 2018 held at Officer’s Club of Jayant Area of the company.

Creating an immersive atmosphere for the message of cleanliness to be grasped and acted with zeal, the company undertook massive cleanliness drive and thematic activities. While the former includes cleaning of office premises, township, worksite, workshops and other locations; the latter included various thematic competitions, painting exhibition and plying of Cleanliness Chariot across the district during the fortnight. Hail to the variegated range of exercises, NCL has potentially reached 2 lakh people looping them in for creating an everlasting impact and making cleanliness an ongoing imperative.

On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the fortnight concluded in NCL with the determination to ensure continuity of the mission. The CMD NCL, Shri P K Sinha graced the occasion as Chief Guest. On this occasion, Director (Finance) Shri N N Thakur, JCC member Shri Hiramani Yadav and Mr. Ashok Dubey, General Secretary of CMOAI Shri Sarvesh Singh and President of NCL Kriti Mahila Mandal, Smt. Sangeeta Sinha and Vice President Smt. Neelu Thakur were present as guests of honour. The guests, along with the event attendees, paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi.

More than 5000 paintings on cleanliness were displayed in the exhibition. Laid in the columnar spread of 4 indoor and 3 outdoor galleries, the artworks zoomed in all its magnificence as one toured from one gallery to the other. The exhibition also showcased pencil drawings, models and other germane crafts.

Moved and enthused with the display, CMD NCL Shri Sinha said that browsing through the artworks reminded him of his childhood. He said that each picture in the exhibition carries a certain message. He further said that with every brush stroke a child makes on the poster, the collective efforts of his family culminate to translate the vision of ‘Swachh Bharat’ into reality. This, for sure, ensures effective cascading of the message. Director (Finance) NCL Shri Thakur said that every painting in the exhibition reflects deeply on cleanliness and is indicative of the action-backed aspects pertaining to everyday cleanliness activities. Representatives of trade unions warmly congratulated NCL management for setting up such a grand painting exhibition for the first time in Singrauli area. The representatives of officers’ union also congratulated the organizing teams.

During the fortnight, various competitions were organized across the coal producing areas and units of NCL.
