NCL Organises Mega Summer Camp For Children

Singrauli: Aarohan 2019, the annual summer camp organised by Northern Coalfields Limited, concluded on Saturday. Starting from May 15th, 2019, the camp lasted for one month in which children from not only NCL family but from across the Singrauli were trained in 16 wide range of co-curricular activities.
 
Shri P.K. Sinha, CMD, NCL graced the closing ceremony held at Nigahi ground of NCL as Chief Guest. Shri P.M. Prasad, Director (Technical/Project & Planning) NCL, Shri Nag Nath Thakur, Director (Finance & Personnel) NCL, President CMOAI Shri Tarkeshwar Prasad, JCC members Shri Ashok Dubey and Shri P.K.Singh were present as guests of honour. Collector Singrauli Shri K.V.S.Chowdhary also graced the occasion with his family as the special guest of the occasion.
 
The camp witnessed overwhelming participation from children and parents. Nearly 3000 children of age below 19 years enrolled themselves in the camp which offered to learn choices in sports like badminton, athletics, table tennis, kabaddi, volleyball, cricket, football and skating. The camp also offered training in dance, musical instruments, journalism, photography and painting which were new additions of the year.
 
Addressing the gathering, CMD NCL Shri P.K.Sinha underscored 'development' as a common goal of all the initiatives undertaken by NCL. Drawing parallels between activities done under Transform Singrauli, CSR, developmental works and welfare activities inasmuch as Aarohan, Shri Sinha said that NCL strives for the development of nation on all front. Defining engineer as the one who applies his knowledge for the development of the society, Shri Sinha said societal development is as central to the company's operations as coal production and despatches. He concluded his speech by assuring that NCL has all the capacity to accommodate ever-growing participation in Aarohan and hoped for the exponential growth in enrollments to continue year after year.
 
Collector Singrauli Shri K. V. S. Choudhary said that coming to Nigahi ground on Sundays had him witness discipline and enthusiasm of children. He expressed hopes that NCL will continue to organise the camp with the same vigour in years to come.
 
Director (Finance & Personnel) NCL Shri N.N.Thakur said NCL has ensured inclusive participation and children from rural areas also participated in the camp. Appreciating the learning propensity of children, Shri Thakur said that he is confident that nation is secured in these hands of brilliance.
 
On this occasion, General Manager Nigahi Shri S.K.Gomasta welcomed guests, participants, parents, coaches and a large gathering of spectators. General Manager (Personnel) / Chief of Personnel) NCL, Shri Charles Juster presented a comprehensive report of activities undertaken under Arohan 2019. Deputy Manager (Personnel/Welfare) Shri Kaushal Kumar narrated a self-composed lyrical poem titled ‘NCL Ki Anokhi Shaan Bana Hai Aarohan’. Also, an audio-visual presentation, made by Ms.Shlesha Singh, Management Trainee (Personnel), showcasing Aarohan2019 activities was screened. A pavilion of children's creations which ranged from paintings to hand-made crafts was set which saw many footfalls during the programme and was appreciated much. Top performing areas and teams were also awarded on this occasion.
 
On this occasion, children presented an interesting mix of cultural and sports renditions. The programme culminated with a group performance of around 220 children dancing in unison which left spectators spellbound.
