NCL launches Cleanliness Fortnight

Singrauli: As a part of nationwide Swachh Bharat Mission, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) on Wednesday started Swachhta Pakhwada (Cleanliness Fortnight) that will end on August 31. Shri T.K. Nag, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of the company flagged off Swachhta Daud (Run for Cleanliness) and released hot-air balloons carrying Swachhta Slogans on Tuesday during Independence Day celebrations held at the company’s headquarters in Singrauli to mark the beginning of the fortnight.
 
Massive campaigns and activities aimed at spreading awareness and inculcating the habit of cleanliness among stakeholders of the company are being organised during the observance of the fortnight across the company including all its coal producing areas and units.
 
The CMD Shri Nag and all functional Directors of the company has made an appeal to the stakeholders for active participation in the events and drives being organized by NCL during the fortnight, so that the company could register its massive contribution in the government’s Swachh Bharat Mission launched to fulfill the dreams of the clean nation of Rashtrapita Mahatma Gandhi.
 
On the first day of the fortnight, ‘Swachhta Pledge’ was administered to the company’s employees. During the first two days of the fortnight, cleanliness activities in office premises, schools and nearby villages; plantation and fruit bearing sapling distribution in and around the company’s operational area; Rallies, Quiz, Skit, Play etc. among school children to spread the message of cleanliness have been taken up by different coal producing areas and units of NCL.
