NHPC to fund 299 toilets in 150 schools
Pithoragarh. The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has agreed to give Rs 2.38 crore for the construction of 299 toilets in 150 schools of Champawat district under the Swajal project in the current year.
Champawat District Magistrate Dependra Chaudhari said the toilets would be constructed in schools in rural and interior parts of the district. An agency having a good record of maintaining quality in construction in rural areas would be assigned the job. “We have suggested giving the work to Sulabh International,” he said.
