NLC I Executive Shri R.Ramachandran Mridangam artist wins trophy in AIPS Cultural Competition 2017
Neyveli: Shri R.Ramachandran , an outstanding and versatile Mridangam Artist of NLC India Limited won the runner-up trophy title in All India Public Sector Cultural Competition organized by All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board (AIPSSPB) held at Amritsar,Punjab from 14th to 16th March 2017.
Shri R.Ramachandran Dy.Manager /Township Administration of NLCI by profession and by passion he is an accomplished mridangam player who belongs to traditional music family and son of “ Kalaimamani” Thanjavur Shri R.Ramamoorthy, Mridanga Vidwan.
Shri R.Ramachandran in these Cultural competitions competed with many music instrument players of 14 leading PSU organizations and stood second in Finals.
Shri Ramachandran began his performance at the age of 10 and has won several awards. In 1980, he received All India Award in Carnatic Music-Instrumental Mrithungam award from His Excellency Shri Neelam Sanjeev Reddy, President of India and had the opportunity to perform in front of him at Rashtrapathibhavan, NewDelhi. He is a “B” high graded Artist by All India Radio Music Board and had teamed up with many proficient’s in Karnatic Music Field like “Padmashri” Mandolin U.Srinivas,Padmashri Kadri Dr. Gopalnath-Saxofone and others.
Today on, 24.04.2017, Dr.SaratKumar Acharya, CMD, NLCIL ,Shri R.Vikraman, Director (HR) and Shri R. Mohan, CGM/CSR, Edu. Sports & Culture congratulated and honoured Shri Ramachandran at Corporate office, Neyveli for his commendable performance in AIPS Cultural competitions.
