NLCIL Motivates the Students of Gaja Cyclone Affected Districts

Neyveli: NLC India Limited and Tamil Nadu Science Forum (TNSF) jointly organised an Empowerment Programme for students from Gaja affected Districts at Neyveli between 19th May 2019 and 26th May 2019.
 
NLCIL organised this purposeful programme as its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. As many as 72 students of 5th to 12th standard, including 28 girls from Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai and Cuddalore districts participated in the programme.
 
The inaugural session was held at NLC Middle School, Block-9, Neyveli, in which Prof. Dr. L. Jawahar Nesan, former Vice-Chancellor, Saveetha University, Chennai; Shri S. Vinayagamoorthy, DGM (Education), NLCIL and Shri M. Birathvi Raj, I.A.S.,(An alumni of Jawahar Hr. Secondary School, Neyveli, recently selected for IAS) addressed the students.
 
The Students were trained in the subjects including Tamil, English, Science, Mathematics etc. apart from Attitude and Personality Development in a simple and easy way by experts in the field.  Literary sessions, Yoga & Taekwondo classes were also conducted for them by expert trainers. 
 
Shri Ganesan, Shri Duraikannu, General Managers/NLCIL, Shri M.P. Ganesan, CM, NLCIL, Shri Metha Vanan, from NLCIL, Shri Subramanian, State Treasurer, TNSF, Smt. Sahaya Mary, Psychologist, Shri Kodaikanal Siva Santha Kumar, Dr. S. Vijayakumari, Psychiatrist, NLC India Hospital, Dr. Chenthil, Ulagamathi Nursing Home, Neyveli were the resource persons who motivated the children in various topics.
 
Shri Abdul Khader, ACM, NLCIL Education Department, Shri Ponmudi, Shri Sirkali Nandha Rajendran, Shri Neyveli S. Balagurunathan, Shri K. Vijayakumar, Office bearers of TNSF, Shri Vasudevan, Shri Kannan, Sports Coaches also imparted training to the students.
 
The students were taken to Neyveli Mines, Thermal Power Stations and the Satya Gnana Sabhai at Vadalur for industry and outside visit.  NLCIL extended all facilities including uniforms, food, industrial visit and training and the students from under privileged sections of the society indeed enjoyed the entire programme.
 
The valedictory session of the programme was organised on 26.05.2019 and Shri R. Mohan, CGM/CSR, Edn., Sports & Culture, NLCIL, participated as the Chief Guest and presented the certificates and prizes to the students.  Shri S. Mathivanan, CGM/Finance, NLCIL & Patron, TNSF presided over the function.  Shri S. Vinayagamoorthy, DGM/Education, NLCIL, Shri Abdul Khader, ACM/Education, NLCIL, Shri R. Damodharan, Shri K. Manavalan, Shri Stephen Nathan, Smt. M. Rani, Office bearers of TNSF spoke on the occasion.  
 
Shri Mohan, Smt. Thamaraiselvi, Smt. Baby Mala, Shri Sivakumar, Shri Prasana Kumar, Shri Muthukrishnan, Shri Ananda Prasad, Shri Vetrivel, office bearers of TNSF made all the arrangements for the 8 day motivation programme.
