NLCIL Organizes Series of Workshops on GST to enlighten Stake holders Vendors and Contractors

Neyveli:  NLCIL management is organizing various awareness programmes on   Goods and Services Tax (GST) system to enlighten the stakeholders, Traders and contractors.
Towards this step, on 29.6.2017 Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD NLCIL inaugurated GST Central Invoicing System of the company in which Shri Rakesh Kumar, Director (Finance) and other Functional Directors have participated.
 
On 01.07.2017, a “Work Shop on GST  with  Vendors of NLCIL” was organized at Learning & Development Centre, Neyveli. A total of 31 vendors participated in the workshop.   Shri K. Subramanian, Chief of Materials Department (CGM) and Shri S. Mathivanan, Chief General Manager/Finance have participated the Workshop along with other NLC Officials.
 
In another workshop held on  topic “ Workshop on GST with  Contractors of NLCIL”, on 04.07.2017 at L&DC, 93 Contractors of NLCIL participated and got an overview about the concepts of GST. Shri S.A Fateh Khalid ED /Mines, Shri V. Chandrasekaran, ED/Finance and Shri Hemant Kumar, CGM/Mines and Shri N.Sadish Babu, CGM/HR  have graced the occasion.
 
Earlier 24th June 2017 a training session on GST was organized in which many stake holders of NLCIL have participated.
During these workshops  Overview of GST and its salient features like Registration requirement, Composition scheme for the Traders and Manufacturers, Input tax credit mechanism, Reverse tax mechanism, Returns filing, compliance rating, Anti-profiteering etc. were extensively deliberated and discussed.
These workshops provided deep insights for various strategies to be adopted for smooth implementation of GST in NLCIL. It also dealt with procedures and steps involved in filing returns. Also, a detailed  presentation shown as to how the GST will benefit the traders as well as the consumers.
