NRDC Organises Workshop on Patent Searching

New Delhi: National Research Development Corporation, organised a workshop on Patent Searching, Dr. H.Purushotham, CMD, NRDC, while inaugurating the two-day workshop on Patent Searching said  India ranked fifth in research publications, it ranked 52nd on the Global Patent Index, he said. He has further stated that there was a need for awareness on patent search and filing methods among researchers and start-ups, so that Indian Patent Index could be improved.
 
The advanced patent search training workshop has jointly organised by NRDC - Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS), Govt. of A.P., Visakhapatnam, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Cell for IPR Promotion & Management (CIPAM) under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Govt. of India at Vishakhapatnam from 5th – 6th July, 2018.
 
NRDC has entered into MoAs during the Workshop with Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) Visakhapatnam, Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU), Rajahmundry, and Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju Engineering College (SRKREC) Bhimavaram, Kakinada. The Agreements were signed by Dr. H. Purushotham, CMD, NRDC; Dr. V. Kesava Rao, Vice Chancellor, DSNLU; Dr. M Mutyala Naidu, Vice Chancellor, AKNU and Dr. K. V. S. N. Raju, Registrar, SRKREC. Under these MoAs, NRDC would build capacities in IPR management and technology transfer in the Universities.  
 
About 150 research scholars, faculty start-ups and SMEs attended the workshop.
