NRDC signs MoA with a Charitable Trust for upliftment of Women Self Help Groups

New Delhi: Dr. H. Purushotham, Chairman and Managing Director of National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), informed that an MoA has been signed with Vasantha Lakshmi Charitable Trust & Research Center (VLCT&RC), Nellore for providing technological and managerial services for training and skill development of the members of the various women self help groups for creating the opportunities for self-employment and raise their incomes.
 
The MoA was signed by Dr. H. Purushotham, Chairman and Managing Director on behalf of National Research Development Corporation, New Delhi and Dr. T. Vasanth Lakshmi Ravi Kumar, Chairperson/Chief Executive of Vasantha Lakshmi Charitable Trust & Research Center (VLCT&RC), Nellore.
 
NRDC has been engaged in the promotion, development and commercialisation of indigenous technologies developed by various Govt. funded research institutes, Universities and other R&D organisations. It has transferred technologies to about 5000 industries/entrepreneurs and helped in creating thousands of small and micro enterprises through providing technologies, training, skill development etc. NRDC has large number of simple technologies suitable women and rural youths.
 
VLCT & RC has been working for the upliftment of women members of various Self Help Groups (SHG) by helping and encourages them through education, creating self employment opportunities, providing training and extending other necessary assistance to  improve their quality of life. It is working for the development of rural and backward areas of the Nellore District in particular and other parts of the country in general. As per the MoA it is proposed that the a Common Facilitation Centre (CFC) cum Skill Development Centre would be set up for demonstration of various rural technologies and providing  skill development training programme.
