NTPC WR-I organizes ash users meet at Pune
Pune: NTPC WR-I organises NTPC Ltd organized a Fly Ash Users meet at Pune on 22 Nov 2019 which was attended by end users, traders, entrepreneurs, consultants and manufacturers. The programme was aimed to share the benefits of use of fly ash along with the feasibility avenues of transporting fly ash from NTPC plants to the end users in Pune region and adjoining areas. Deliberations were also held on the modalities of setting up an Ash park in Pune region.
Biswarup Basu, CGM Safety/SD/Environment/Ash utilization Corporate center, NTPC in his inaugural address said that the future must be visualised now and it is important for end users to know about the quality of the ash they are buying. He emphasized on the partnership model for sustainable supply of quality ash. He indicated that a transparent mechanism will be evolved to enable stakeholders to quote for NTPC fly ash from different stations.
Abhijit Lunkad,President of RMC Pune said that a good partnership is a win-win situation for both end users and NTPC.Yusuf Inamdar from Pune RMC association discussed about the future action plan for establishing the Ash park.Presentations were made by NTPC and user groups and extensive deliberations were held on tackling the challenges.End users while interacting with NTPC officials emphasized on the creation of standardized properties of Ash and urged that the quality manual should be in public domain. They also suggested to increase awareness in general public about the benefits of fly ash as a resource material.
BB Chugh (GM-Ash Management-NTPC Corporate Center), Namdev Uppar (GM-O&M-NTPC Solapur), spoke about the policies, current systems in place and the future plans of NTPC for sustainable ash utilization. NP Shahar (AGM-OS, NTPC Mumbai) welcomed the gathering while P.K.Rawat (AGM-OS, NTPC Mumbai) proposed the vote of thanks.Around 80 persons associated with Fly Ash from various organisations attended the successful event.
