NTPC Board Meeting at Bodhgaya

Gya: In line with the suggestion made by Prime Minister of India for development and promotion of domestic tourist places situated in tier-II cities of the country, NTPC conducted its 461st meeting of Board of Directors at Bodhgaya in Bihar. This is the first board meeting of NTPC held in Bihar.
 
CMD and all directors of NTPC reached Bodhgaya for a two day meeting of Board of Directors and its various sub-committees such as on CSR. Business Strategy and Risk Management was also deliberated in addition to various agenda points listed for the meeting.
 
CMD and all directors of NTPC along with ShNangzeyDorjee, Secretary-General, IAS (Rtd) and ShBhikhuChalinda, Chief Monk of Mahabodhi Temple also planted saplings in Kalchakramaidan in the vicinity of magnificent Bodhi temple on the occasion of Van Mahatsava. 
 
During their two day stay at Bodhgaya, the dignitaries also visited nearby tourist places like Rajgir and Nalanda. This gesture of NTPC was appreciated by local entrepreneurs and their associated employees and vendors, who directly or indirectly benefitted by tourism at Bodhgaya. This activity, which led to increase in footfall during off season tourism at Bodhgaya, was a great relief to small vendors whose survival gets a boost on arrival of tourists to such small places.
 
All dignitaries of NTPC also appreciated this move as it is always a challenge for them to spare time to visit such small places out of their busy schedule.
