ONGC and BPCL Hockey players felicitated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
NEW DELHI. ONGC and BPCL Hockey players who contributed in historic win of Junior Hockey World Cup 2016 were felicitated by MoS (I/C), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas,Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.Petroleum sector had a strong contribution of players, with 10 out of 18 players belonging to Petroleum Sports Promotion Board.India's goalkeeping coach Romeo James was also felicitated.
The players have been groomed as part of the scholarship programmes of ONGC and BPCL. ONGC players Gurjant Singh and Mandeep Singh scored vital goals in the semi-finals against Australia during play-time and Sumit (ONGC), Harjeet, Harmanpreet (BPCL) and Harpreet scored in the penalty shoot out to win the semis.
