Oil spill in ONGC well plugged
Kakinada . The sudden Oil spill from the ONGC well in Sudapalem village of Bheemapalli Panchayat, Uppalaguptham mandal in Konaseema region was immediately plugged and the well was closed.
ONGC sources said that the oil well named as ERAAA was a very low press well and it suddenly became active while performing a routine daily operation yesterday but the engineers and other technical staff swung into action and closed it without any damage.
The well is connected with low pressure pipeline network of Pasarlapudi gas collecting station (GCS) and security personnel were deployed at the well as a precautionary measure. Technical experts are also monitoring the well continuously.
It is a low producing well and is attend to everyday by technical crew to take production for a while and close, the sources added.
