POWERGRID declares total dividend of Rs. 2275.74 Crore
New Delhi: New Delhi . Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. the Navratna has declared final dividend of Rs. 1752.59 Crore in addition to Rs. 523.15 Crore of interim dividend for the Financial Year 2016-17 i.e. aggregating to ? 2275.74 Crore.
A cheque of Rs. 980.73 Crore towards final dividend for the year 2016-17 was handed over by Shri I.S.Jha, CMD, POWERGRID to the Hon’ble Union Minister of State (IC) for Power and New & Renewable Energy Shri R.K.Singh on 12.10.2017 in the presence of Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Secretary (Power), Government of India , senior officials of Ministry of Power and POWERGRID Board Members. In addition to this, an interim dividend of Rs. 292.76 Crore was earlier paid to the Ministry of Power for the year 2016-17.
The total dividend of Rs. 2275.74 Crore declared by POWERGRID is 43.50% of Paid-up Share Capital which is as against last year’s total dividend of Rs. 1208.50 Crore i.e. 23.10% of Paid-up Share Capital. The dividend amount of Rs. 2275.74 Crore is approximately 30.26 % of the profit after tax of Rs. 7520.15 Crore. POWERGRID has been consistently paying dividend since Financial Year 1993-94.
POWERGRID has registered a net profit of Rs.7520.15 Crore over a total income of Rs. 26581.46 Crore in the FY 2016-17, registering a growth of 26.42 % in net profit and 25.13 % in total income compared to FY 2015-16.
