RINL Appeal to its Employees not to go for Agitational Methods

Vishakhapatnam: In spite of RINL Appeal Made yesterday, a few trade unions representing Non-Executives and Contract Labour operating at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant have been resorting to various agitational methods inside the plant premises opposing implementation of 'Conveyor Maintenance Contract System' in sinter plant and RMHP.
 
In a press release of the company said that RINL has been passing through a tough phase and encountering various challenges from all fronts be in production, productivity, profitability, marketing, logistics etc., in addition, there are other major issues like stabilization of new and expanded units with a view to ramp up the production up to the commissioned capacity, very sustenance of RINL in the volatile business environment, which are to be dealt with assiduously and sincerity.
 
The need of the hour is Dedication, Determination and Commitment from all stakeholders in general and RINL fraternity in particular.
 
The issue of the implementation of the 'Conveyor Maintenance Contract System' was taken up by the Statutory Authority and a meeting was held by Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Visakhapatnam, the representatives of the trade unions were present but for the reasons are known best to them did not allow the conciliation proceedings to fructify. Unions are requested not to resort to any agitational path and to cooperate with the Management.
 
It is learnt that some of the employees are resorting to tool down and not attending the works even after recording their attendance. They are, therefore, not entitled to wages for the period on the principle of “No Work No Pay”.  Further, this will make them liable for appropriate action as deemed fit in accordance to the Certified Standing Orders of the Company.
 
RINL has advised all the Employees to refrain from getting carried away with misleading information being circulated against the Management. It may be noted that any agitational approach by the unions may severely impact the workflow and dent the financial health and profitability of the Plant at this critical juncture threatening the safe and secure operation.
