SAIL and National Skill Development Corporation sign MoU for skill development in steel sector
KOLKATA: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) signed an MoU for skill development in steel sector on Monday. The MoU between SAIL and NSDC will focus on three areas including - skilling of on-roll employees of SAIL, skilling of off-roll manpower working in SAIL and skilling of local youth for future employability and income generation. Under the SAIL-MSDC MoU, five thrust areas have been identified to support the above initiatives, which are - Skill Development Centers (SDCs) at Bhilai, Bokaro, Rourkela and Durgapur, Skill Development Centre of Excellence for Iron & Steel in the vicinity of IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur, System of Certifying and Recognizing Prior Learning (RPL) of workforce, Upgrading SAIL training infrastructure and aligning with Quality Packs (QPs).
