SWACHHTA HI SEWA ON GANDHI JAYANTI
Singrauli: Northern Coalfields Limited celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, 2017. On this occasion, NCL fraternity commemorated father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi and pledged to imbibe his principles of righteous living.
Special cleanliness drive were ran and other similar initiatives were undertaken in NCL Headquarters, the coal producing areas and service units of NCL. The central programme was organised at NCL Headquarters where Director (Finance), Shri.P.S.R.K.Sastry graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Director (Technical/Project & Planning), Shri.J.L.Singh was present as guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Shri. Sastry stressed on the importance of cleanliness as an ongoing imperative and said that various initiatives undertaken for achieving 'Clean India' must fulfill their purpose.
Shri.J.L.Singh administered cleanliness pledge to the gathering. The pledge aimed to bring about concerted efforts to achieve the dream of a clean nation. Contributing to the noble cause and national goal, NCL family pledged to devote 100 hours of voluntary service in a year; which translates to 2 hours of voluntary services in a week.
On this occasion, homage was paid to father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi with wreath and flowers in NCL premises where Functional Directors, General Managers, Departmental Heads and employees were present. The event was also marked by cleanliness drive undertaken in the premises where all the attendees took to broom thereby rendering the credo, 'Swachhta hi Sewa' (Cleanliness is Service) into action.
