Shri R.K. Singh Minister for Power Released a Book on Smart Grid
New Delhi: Union Minister (I/c) for Power & New and Renewable Energy, Shri R. K. Singh, released a book titled 'Smart Grid: Fundamentals & Applications'
co-authored by Shri I. S. Jha, CMD, POWERGRID Limited, Dr. Subir Sen, COO (CTU Plg. & Smart Grid), Shri Rajesh Kumar, Sr. DGM (Smart Grid), POWERGRID and renowned academician, Prof. D. P. Kothari.
It was launched in the august presence of Secretary (Power) Shri Ajay Bhalla, Chairperson, CEA, Shri P. S. Mhaske, co-authors of the book and senior officials of Ministry of Power, CEA, NTPC, BEE, POWERGRID, publisher and other stakeholders. The book has been published by 'New Age International Publishers'.
In view of growing environmental concern and increasing penetration of renewable energy sources, need for application of battery energy storage system, Smart Grid Technology, increasing focus on energy efficiency, e-mobility, concern for Power Quality, Cyber Security, distribution system automation etc., Smart Grid has emerged as a solution to address emerging challenges. Under such scenario, this book is first of its kind covering description of various emerging Smart Grid technologies and its applications in entire power supply value chain.
Combined with professional and academic experience of authors and balanced with theoretical as well as practical aspects, this book intends to meet the needs of a diverse range of groups like academicians, student community, researchers, utilities, developers, power sector experts and analysts, industry.
