Valedictory Function of Vigilance Awareness Week at NMDC
Hyderabad: The valedictory function of NMDC was attended by Shri N. Baijendra Kumar, IAS, CMD; Shri K. Padmanabhaiah, IAS (Retd), Former Home Secretary and present Chairman, ASCI along with functional Directors and Senior Officials of NMDC.
Shri N. Baijendra Kumar, IAS, CMD, NMDC urged for structural reforms for corruption free country and present generation should overcome temptation for having a corruption free life for which one requires lot of spiritual and mental courage.
As Chief Guest Padma Bhushan Shri K. Padmanabhaiah addressing valedictory function said that Vigilance is not something which would come from outside. It has to come from inside. Every man is his own vigilance officer. He also appreciated NMDC for its efforts towards ethics, transparency and accountability. He said that signing integrity pact and supporting the UN Global compact with its ten principles is really something which goes again anti-corruption.
On this occasion, Dr. Narendra K. Nanda, Director (Technical), Dr. T.R.K. Rao, Director (Commercial), Shri D.S. Ahluwalia, Director (Finance) and Shri Sandeep Tula, Director (Personnel) also addressed the gathering. Addressing the function, Shri K. Vidyasagar, Chief Vigilance Officer, NMDC briefed about activities during vigilance week. He said that these activities helped in creating awareness amongst the common public regarding the anti-corruption movement. The programme concluded with prize distribution to the winners of various competitions organized for the employees and various school and college students.
