Workshop on GeM Organised at IOCL HQ

New Delhi: A workshop on Government e-Marketplace was organised by Materials & Contracts Department of IndianOil's Refineries HQ, in association with GeM authorities. Mr. Rajiv Bansal, Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, while inaugurating the workshop lauded IndiaOil for making efforts towards adopting GeM and making the initiative successful. Describing GeM as an important flagship programme of the Govt. of India that aims for increased efficiency and transparency, he called upon the extensive usage of the platform. Ms. Radha S Chauhan, CEO, GeM in her keynote address, appreciated the growing popularity of the GeM platform and described it as a national initiative for sellers, especially focussed on creating a symbiotically advantageous interface between the MSME sector and buyers from the govt./PSU sectors. 
Mr. Suresh Chopra, Executive Director (Projects), RHQ, said that GeM shall enable to improve timelines in the procurement process for a large number of capital-intensive projects on the anvil in IndianOil as the speed of implementation is critical in project management. Ms. Archna Bhardwaj, Chief General Manager I/c (M&C), RHQ was also present. Besides IndianOil, the workshop had participants from other oil PSUs as well.
