Workshop on Geo-Spatial Technology held at WCL
Nagpur: Western Coalfields Limited organized a workshop on Application of Geo-spatial Technology (GIS, GPS and Remote Sensing) in Mine Management.. Dr. M. P. Narayanan, former Chairman of Coal India Limited was the Chief Guest of the workshop. While addressing during inaugural session CMD of WCL Shri. Rajiv R. Mishra said that, we are concerned about remote sensing since last several years. Remote Sensing & Geo-spatial Technology shall prove helpful to achieve challenging coal production target of CIL of one billion Tone till FY – 2019-20. He emphasized that all subsidiaries of CIL should implement this modern technology on priority.
The former Chairman of CIL Dr. M.P. Narayanan said that, I am very pleased to know that WCL has started land information and water resources management system. He said that they should increase use of new technology for socio-commercial interest and take right decision at right time to develop the country.
