Chairman CIL Chairs a Review Meeting of NEC

Guwahati: Shri Anil Kumar Jha, Chairman, Coal India Limited (CIL) chaired a review meeting of North Eastern Coalfields (NEC) in Guwahati, Assam. Shri Binay Dayal, Director - Technical, CIL, Shri J.K. Borah, General Manager, NEC and senior management of NEC were present on the occasion.

Coal India Limited is an Indian state-controlled coal mining company headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, India and the largest coal-producing company in the world and a Maharatna company. The company contributes to around 82% of the coal production in India.
 
North Eastern Coalfields is a unit of Coal India Limited, which has its headquarters in Margherita in Assam. The unit came into existence in 1975 after nationalization of coal mines in India. It took over the private mines spread in North Eastern States of India and at present has mines operating in states of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. At present there are five working mines three underground and two opencast mines.
