CMD KIOCL review the re -commissioning activity of BLAST FURNACE UNIT
Mangalore. Shri Malay Chatterjee, CMD,KIOCL Ltd along with Shri Subba Rao, Director (Commercial) inspected Blast Furnace Unit at Mangalore on 27th December 2016 to review the progress on re- commissioning and resumption of production of its BFU which will go in for heating before the FY 2016- 17.
The Blast Furnace Unit was commissioned to produce 2.16 lakh tons per annum of foundry grade Pig Iron during Feb. 2001 and was shut down from August 2009 due to the market downtrend and non-availability of raw material.
The improvement in the market conditions and availability of input materials, the financial performance will yield positive benefit for the Company. Therefore, the Board of Directors of KIOCL has decided to restart the Blast Furnace Unit.
Shri Chatterjee and team KIOCL is up-heat of re-commissioning of the Unit before the close of year 2016 as per directions of the Board to enhance the turn over and add to the bottom line of the Company.
