GSL Conducts Run for Nation
Vasco. Goa Shipyard Ltd conducted ‘Run for Nation’ on 22nd January 2017 in a festive and patriotic atmosphere on Sunday morning from SAG Sports Complex, Chicalim to Shantinagar Vasco. Over thousand enthusiastic participants, from various age groups participated in 5 Kilometres ‘Mini Marathon’, making it hugely successful.
Shri Bramanand Shankalwakar - Ex. Indian Football Team Captain & Goal Keeper, Arjuna Awardee and RAdm Shekhar Mital, (NM) CMD, GSL flagged off the run. Shri Bramanand Shankalwakar congratulated Goa Shipyard Ltd for organising the Mini Marathon and expressed his happiness to witness wonderful spirit amongst youth in this hugely successful Marathon event.
The ‘Run for Nation’ was organised country wide by various Defence PSUs at the behest of Ministry of Defence to encourage and foster unity, brotherhood and patriotic mood across the nation.
