Himachal govt approves SPV for first hydro engineering college
SHIMLA: With Himachal Pradesh government on Saturday approving formation of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), the first hydro-engineering college of the country proposed in Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh is finally heading towards reality after remaining only in papers all these years. Himachal Pradesh government had signed an MOU with NTPC in March 2012 for this college and foundation stone of hydro-engineering college was to be laid in April 2012 but the project had got stalled.
Himachal Pradesh technical education minister G S Bali, on Saturday, said that he has approved the SPV. He said that the file would be sent to the Centre for further action. Bali said that NHPC and NTPC would provide Rs 100 crore for construction of the hydro-engineering college for which required land has already been identified in Bilaspur.
