India among top 10 CR reporting countries
Kolkata. Today, all large Indian firms report on corporate responsibility, compared with just 20% in 2011India is one of the top 10 countries in the world with the highest rate of corporate responsibility (CR) information reporting, the latest KPMG Survey of Corporate Responsibility Reporting 2015, shows.
CR is fast becoming a firmly integral part of annual reports. Today, all large Indian firms report on CR, compared with just 20 per cent of companies in 2011.
Interestingly, last year the Centre had made it mandatory for large companies to report on CSR projects undertaken and to disclose details, including the spending on these projects.
Apart from India, the Asia Pacific region has overtaken other areas on CR reporting rates. The sample of the KPMG survey includes reporting from 4,500 companies in 45 countries.
It also focuses on the quality of carbon reporting among the world’s 250 largest companies (G250) based on the 2014 Fortune 500 listing and offers advice on leading practices in corporate carbon reporting and how these companies measure up against key criteria.
