IndianOil to Add 24 Million Tonnes of Refining Capacity by Brown field Expansion
New Delhi . Sept 2,2016IndianOil will be adding almost 24 Million Tonnes of refining capacity, through brown field expansions in its refineries across the country, during the next five to six years.
These expansions will be carried out concurrent to the projects currently underway, to supply BS-IV and BS-VI compliant auto fuels across the country, from April 2017 and April 2020 respectively."
Mr Sanjiv Singh, Director (Refineries) shared this while addressing IOCians on the occasion of IndianOil`s Foundation Day at Refineries Headquarters in New Delhi.
Speaking on the company`s preparedness for the production and supply of greener auto fuels, Mr Singh said, "The Government has set very stringent targets of meeting BS IV and BS VI standard fuel quality in order to ensure better environment. Accordingly, our refineries need to meet the strict timelines of April, 2017 and April, 2020 respectively, set for supplying BS IV and BS VI compliant fuels.
Director (Refineries) called upon the employees to use innovation and flexibility of ideas and actions. A high point of the Day was the felicitation of the winners of Suggestion Scheme Corporate Awardees hailing from various refineries, by ED (HR) Mr A K Chowdhury.
