IWAI inks MoUs to develop national waterways
New Delhi . The government on Wednesday said the Inland Water Authority of India (IWAI) has entered into three separate memorandums of understanding (MoUs) to develop the National Waterways (NW) in a time-bound and effective manner. The Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Shri Rajive Kumar is also seen. PIB
According to the Ministry of Shipping, IWAI has inked MoUs with the Dredging Corporation of India (DCI), Paradip Port Trust (PPT) and Mormugao Port Trust (MPT).
"These MoUs are meant to make use of the synergies, strengths and expertise of the Ports and Dredging sectors to enable IWAI to accelerate the development of the Inland Water Transport (IWT) sector," the ministry said in a statement.
