KIOCL Pellets to Japan under Make in India
Mangalore: Under “Make in India” initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister, KIOCL’s DR grade pellets is shipped to Japan. The loading of 52350 WMT of pellets began at New Mangalore Port on 17.Sept. 2017.
The company has planned for more shipments of pellets to Iran, Japan and Brazil in this financial year.
KIOCL’s Acting-Executive Director, Shri Bobraj V.Jeyaharan flagged off ship “VISHWANIDHI” at the NMPT, Mangalore. The high- grade iron ore for making pellets was procured from Brazil through Oman. This shipment will enrich the company and the Nation with foreign exchange.
Subba Rao, CMD (Addl. Charge) stated that in the FY 2016-17, we have produced 1.45 million tonnes of Pellet and this year (FY 2017-18) we have set a target of 2.1 million tonnes. Various strategies have been drawn up to achieve this target.
