Leadership Development Program for School Administrators

New Delhi: A Leadership Development Program for principals of schools located in various townships of NTPC all across the country was organized at NTPC-Power Management Institute recently. The program was conducted through senior faculties from IIM, Ahmedabad. In addition, there were senior faculties from the fields of Psychological Counselling, Safety and Quality Management in schools. Principals from two renowned schools from NCR were also invited for interaction with the group. As an outcome of the program, the principals developed a model of measurement of school excellence. 

 

Various important parameters emerged in this model viz Connectivity with society, Alumni network, International Exchange, Peer learning from schools, Safety etc. Principals also appreciated that there is a need for value to be inculcated in children for preparing them for future. The use of technology in learning, Quality Circles and methods like quizzing to enhance intellectual ability of students was also emphasized in the program.
