M. Venkaiah Naidu Launches Campaign for All India Public Relations Conference at Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: The Vice President of India, Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu, formally launched the campaign for the the forthcoming 39th All India Public Relations Conference to be held during December 15 to17, 2017 in the city, by unveiling the Conference Theme Poster. Member of Parliament, Visakhapatnam  Dr. Kambampati Hari Babu and Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture and Agri-Processing Mr. Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy  were  also present on the occasion.   
 
National President, Public Relations Society of  India (PRSI) , Dr  Ajit Pathak, National Vice President – South Mr. US Sharma, Chairman of Visakhapatnam  Chapter & Conference Chair Prof DVR Murthy, Secretary  Mr. PLK Murthy, Treasurer Mr. A Govind Rao, National Committee Member  Mr. BV Vijay Prasad, Mr. BR Vikram Kumar, field publicity Officer M. Srinivas Mahesh also particiaptied in the poster launch.
 
Mr. M. Venkaiah Naidu expressed his happiness that the first ever National Conference of  Public Relations was being organized in Visakhapatnam and conveyed his best wishes for a meaningful event focussed on Smart Cities.
The 39th All India Public Relations Conference will be held from December 15-17, 2017 at the Gate Way Hotel. About 300 delegates representing corporate sector, academia ,industry and government will participate. The three-day conference  will discuss the issues related to the theme,' Emerging India: Smart Citiy .Smart Communication. The experts from various walks of life will deliver lectures on the theme. The Conference seeks to explore the significance of communication in the fast developing smart cities in India in the age of digital communication. Though traditional media like newspapers, radio and television cannot be set aside, the digital media impacts the society and facilitates instant communication. Thus, the profession of Public Relations must transform to gain greater acceptance as an inevitable part of urbanization.
 
Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), the national association of PR practitioners was established in 1958.  PRSI has 25 chapters across the country and 3000 members. This National association of PR and communication professionals, through its sustained efforts and campaigns, has emerged as a beacon of PR and Media intelligentsia. PRSI organized the 1st International PR festival in 2005 at New Delhi followed by the 2nd International PR festival in Mauritius in August, 2008. An Indo- Thailand Round Table Conference was also organized by PRSI  in Thailand in 2013.
