MCL celebrates 26th Foundation Day
Sambalpur: A ‘Run for Excellence’ and musical evening by in-house of talent of Coal India Limited marked the 26th Foundation Day celebrations of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited, the largest dry fuel supplying company of the country.
Mr A K Jha, Chairman & Managing Director, flagged off the run for gents while first lady Dr (Mrs) Nisha Thakur flagged-off for ladies, which saw participation of large number of employees and their family members.
Veterans of coal industry, including Dr R N Sharma, Chairman (Retd), Coal India Limited, Mr S N Sharma, CMD (Retd) MCL, Mr SR Upadhayay, CMD (Retd), MCL and Mr A N Sahay also participated in the celebrations with Mr J P Singh, Director (Technical/P&P), Mr K K Parida, Director (Finance), Mr L N Mishra, Director (Personnel) and Mr OP Singh, Director (Technical/P&P).
In their address, the veteran praised MCL for its achievement and congratulated Mr A K Jha, CMD and his entire team for registering growth in all parameters of coal mining, overcoming unfavourable conditions. The festivities, which begun on Utkal Divas on April 1, witnessed a series of events organised by the employees of the company. Employees also participated in MCL Day Lecture 2017 wherein invited speaker Mr Siddharth Mitra spoke on ‘’Organisational Behaviour for the Success of Business’’. In his address, Mr A K Jha, CMD, shared his thoughts and experience on the subject.
The musical evening started with felicitation of veterans on the occasion followed by cutting of 26th Foundation Day cake by the CMD. Talented officers and staff from various subsidiaries of Coal India Limited presented musical extravaganza that left audience spellbound.
