MCL contributes Rs 50 crore for relief
BHUBANESHWAR. CMD , Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), Shri A N Sahay, handed over a cheque of `50 crore to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for relief and rehabilitation works in Phailin-affected districts on Wednesday.
The fund was donated from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fund of Coal India Limited (CIL). The cheque was handed over in the presence of MCL Directors, trade union representatives and senior officers of MCL. In wake of the devastation unleashed by the cyclonic storm, MCL had moved CIL seeking nod for contribution towards rebuilding infrastructure in the State and providing succor to the affected people.
Earlier, on October 10, MCL had constituted a relief task force to provide relief to affected people. Two medical teams were also kept ready at Talcher Coalfields in Angul district and put under control of Government
