MCL to Set up Cardiac Institute at Jharsuguda

BHUBANESWAR. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has submitted a proposal to the State Government to set up a cardiac institute at Jharsuguda. The Central public sector undertaking had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Government in March for setting up a 100-bed medical college and 500-bed hospital at Talcher.
 
The Coal India subsidiary has proposed to set up a 50-bed cardiac institute at an estimated cost of `30 crore at Jharsuguda as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
 “The MCL proposal is at a preliminary stage and details of the project will be known after a concrete proposal is submitted by the company,” sources in the department said.
