NALCO institutes Green Awards for Engineering Excellence
Bhubaneswar: To mark the Engineers’ Day, Shri T.K. Chand, CMD, NALCO, has announced Green Awards for Engineering Excellence. Shri Chand was addressing the engineering fraternity yesterday in Bhubaneswar, at a function organized by Ever Green Forum. The awards for engineering excellence shall be our humble tributes to the engineers for introduction and adoption of green technology in the industrialization of Odisha,”
Shri Chand said. Intellectuals and NGOs associated with green initiatives have appreciated NALCO’s gesture. While the company spends around Rs. 190 crore per annum in pollution control and environment protection measures, some of its latest initiatives include sponsoring publication of book on aquatic plants in Eastern India and urban plantation by the side of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack National Highway, entailing an expenditure of Rs 2.5 crore.
