NLC INDIA PROVIDES NEW CLASS ROOM BUILDING FOR JAWAHAR MATRICULATION SCHOOL
Mandarakuppam: Dr. Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD, NLC India today inaugurated “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Block”- a new class room building for the “Jawahar Matriculation school” at Mandarakuppam.
NLC India Ltd. has constructed new class rooms for “Jawahar Matriculation School” at Mandarakuppam under its “Corporate Social Responsibility” initiative. The building in framed structure with RCC foundation has been built over an area of14,257 Sq. Ft. at a total cost of Rs.163 lakhs. The building has 12 Nos. of classrooms consisting of ceramic green board with adequate lighting and ceiling fans. Ramps have been provided for the differently abled. Room for the Headmaster, staff and for installation of computer and related accessories have been provided.Convenience have been made separately for the girls and boys. The school is poised for upgradation initially to High School followed by Higher Secondary School.
NLC India Ltd. is spending Rs. 8 crores per annum towards running of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Neyveli and the Jawahar Science College, for promoting education said Dr. Acharya, in his inaugural address.
NLC India under its CSR initiatives focuses in improving the infrastructure for the schools It has constructed many school buildings and additional classrooms for the existing buildings. In last three months, Rs. 3 crores has been spent on building classrooms in Pennadam, Siruvathur, Vadalur and Mandarakuppam.
Dr. Acharya further said the tagline of the year is “Wealth for wellbeing”. In connection with this, NLC India is taking up various works under CSR. The responsibility of creating a good citizen rests on the teachers. This building and its surroundings have to be well maintained, he added.
Shri R. Vikraman, Director (HR) in his address appealed that the teachers should work hard to groom the students to be good humans like our former President Dr. Abdul Kalam
Shri Syed Abdul Fateh Kalid, ED (Mines) and the President of Jawahar Education Society welcomed the gathering. Shri R. Mohan, CGM/CSR, Edn., Sports and Welfare, presented the initiatives under CSR of the company.
