NLC Launches Centre To Empower Women
PUDUCHERRY. March 23, 2016 Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) launched a ‘Women Empowerment Centre’ on Tuesday.The facility set up under the auspices of the NLC’s CSR Cell was opened by Sarat Kumar Acharya, CMD, NLC and Yogamaya Acharya, president, Neyveli Ladies Club.
On the occasion, Mr. Acharya said the centre had been set up to help women increase their employment opportunities and supplement family incomes. The Hindu
Speaking on the occasion Shri Sarat Kumar Acharya said, NLC a front runner in Corporate Social responsibility ,always for the well-being of the society by making continuous and relentless effort for the uplift and Rehabilitation of poor and down trodden. In the current year 2015-16 till now 266 women are trained at an expenditure of Rs.14.22 lakhs.
Smt.Yoga maya Acharya in her address stressed that “Real empowerment to the women comes when they were educated and gets self reliance”.
Functional Directors of NLC shri Rakesh Kumar, Shri Subir Das , Shri V.Thangapandian, Shri P. Selvakumar and senior officials ,employees participated in large number.
